What a great event we had at the Oakville Club May 9-10. 25 local artists gathered to showcase their works for an evening and full day event. Friday night was an open reception and Saturday was beautiful for site seeing and looking at art by the lake. The energy and creative was alive in the room.

I had my wildlife and nature paintings along with photography by myself and my husband Pat Martin.

It was fun to have three Teresa’s in the show, here is stained glass artist, Teresa Seaton, love her work.

Other friends who both are award winning photographers Fred Oliver and Glen Jones had a lovely samplings of their works.

Artist Kathy Marlene Bailey works her magic with a brush with her large, beautifully rendered paintings of the sea side or memories of Muskoka.

Beautifully made pottery by Inga Gircyte that you can actually bake with or eat out of. Available in lovely earthy colours and touches of blues and greens. Reminiscent of the sky or water around us.

As colourful as her personality, abstract artist Darlene Watson uses bold and colourful brush strokes in her works. Her paintings just make you ‘happy’ when you look at them.

Mixed media, driftwood and pebbles found at the beach, Kristina Kirkwood incorporates nature and art together beautifully in her lamps or wall art.

Abstract artist Karin Lynn Cumming, her work flows gracefully across the surface that she paints.

Katherine James expressional art through colour and movement, love her Graffiti Girl Series

Marine Biologist and Artist Andrea Seibt captures the beauty of marine life in her wonderful paintings.

The landscapes and seascapes of Anne More. Love the colours she brings out in every piece.

Fellow nature artist and photographer Laurel Best works in watercolour and acrylic and also teaches her skill to others. Amazing accomplishments Laurel.

Two local artisan’s Shaheen Pirani and Linda Dorrington also part of the show. Also in attendance were Glass Blown Jewellery Designer Berna Kilic and oil painters Helen Griffiths with her whimsical minis and Darlene Winfield with her northern landscapes.
It was an event enjoyed by guests and artists that attended. Planning is started for a Oakville Artists Christmas show in November 14-16 2014, will post when finalized. Have a creative week.
